Really?!? This piece of propaganda is the worst type of pseudo-journalism I've read in a while.
When Obama meets the pope tomorrow, they'll politely disagree about reproductive freedoms and homosexuality, but Catholics back home won't care, because they know Obama's on their side. In fact, Obama's agenda is closer to their views than even the pope's.
Chairman Obama is on YOUR side fighting for you! The leader is better than the pope, neh he IS the Pope!
Honestly this article is comparing Obama to the Pope. I guess since we've all heard him compared to Jesus so much that we might as well compare him to the Pope. That has got to be insulting to Catholics. Some journalist speaking on behalf of all American Catholics making the assumption that the are better represented by Obama than the leader of their faith who speaks to God. Wow.
This whole article is based on the premise that because the Catholic church doesnt support homosexuality and is pro-life that Obama somehow better represents Catholics because Catholics in America are marginally pro-life and pro-gay.
This article is making grand assumptions based on a few percentage points on 2 issues.
Grandstanding? Sensationalism? Yellow journalism? Fox News? .... nope Newsweek! In the tank for Obama, duh.
Finally what does an article like this hope to achieve? Geee you know I was loyal to the Pope, but now I feel ike Obama better represents me, I'm going to worship Obama! O-ba-ma, Oh-ba-ma!!
And people wonder why opponents of Barack say there is a cult of personality or a Messiah complex around him.
:puke:
