And that is why Obama went to Copenhagen... his advisers told him there was a good chance Chicago would win the bid and Barack wanted to be the one to take credit. E G O
It would have been a hugely popularity boost for a President who's seem his numbers dwindle over the summer.
Someone oversold the probability that Chicago would win and Barack bought it and he took the risk.
Let's face it, there is no way he would have gone if he thought there was a poor chance of Chicago getting the bid. Would he? Would he have gone if it was in NYC? or Dallas?
