Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize

Ummmm... w t f?

OSLO (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for giving the world "hope for a better future" and striving for nuclear disarmament, in a surprise award that drew criticism as well as praise.

While the decision won praise from statesmen like Nelson Mandela and Mikhail Gorbachev, both former Nobel laureates, it was also attacked, especially in parts of the Arab and Muslim world, as hasty and undeserved.

The committee said it attached "special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons," saying he had "created a new climate in international politics."

  1. I wondered how long it would for your panties to get in a twist over this.

  2. Jimmy, honestly, have you lost the ability to think critically?

Ask yourself if Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize makes any sense.

Its been nine months, honestly? You think my panties are twisted? Its the front cover every major news outlet.

One of these things is not like the other:

    Teddy Roosevelt
    Jane Addams
    Martin Luther King
    Henry Kissinger
    Amnesty International
    Mother Teresa
    Lech Walesa
    UN Peace-keeping forces
    The Dalai Lama
    Desmond Tutu
    Nelson Mandela
    Al Gore
    Jimmy Cater
    Barack Obama

... hmmm some people HAVE ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING THAT TOOK LONGER THAN 9 MONTHS TO 'ACCOMPLISH'

  3. I'm just glad to see a conservative finally giving Carter and Gore some cred.

  4. At least Al Gore actually made a movie and didn't just talk about movie-making.

  5. For what it's worth, every librul reaction I'm reading to this is pretty much "WTF? He was nominated? Maybe he should decline it until he actually DOES something."

I'm surprised you guys aren't going more with the "Obama linked to terrorist Yassir Arafat" angle. I'm sure we'll hear it by the end of the day.
