Racial Pimpin'

    I agree with most of what she says, but Oscar Grant was killed in a bizarre accident that Grant himself is partially to blame for. The cop who shot him was unnerved by the crowd of people and at the same time Grant was resisting arrest. The cop said that he was going to taze Grant, then while reaching for his taser, Grant made a sudden movement. In the split second that the cop saw this movement, he grabbed his weapon and fired into Grant's back.

    Personally I believe the cop grabbed the pistol by mistake. Does that make it OK? Not at all. It's a homicide. Is it justifiable homicide? No. But I thnk it's probably a negligent homicide, not murder.

    There are two problems here. You have a cop who gets so flustered that he doesn't know a taser from a Sig. And you have a guy who resists arrest.

    I don't think it's fair to simplify it into: "Oscar Grant was murdered by the police!" That's not how it went down IMO.

    But other than that, she hit the nail on the head.
