A little credit where it is due

Ok, ok, let me say a few positive things about Obama

• On global warming... he basically told EU to go to hell. The EU is trying to get the US to use a 1990 baseline for carbon emissions. Obama (and Bush) knew that this is bs because we should be using the 2005 baseline since the US vastly improved emissions during that time. So why doesn't the EU accept this? Well because in 1990 they were a lot better than the US and in 2005 that gap had closed and they are using that as leverage to hammer the US in the successor to Kyoto in Copenhagen.
• In Obama's address to the UN he makes a case for America not being the worlds police and not being solely responsible for solving the worlds problems. To quote: "Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world's problems alone."
  The rest of the speech was crap and embarrassing, but I couldn't agree more with this line.
